NISSAN QASHQAI: IT'S RETIREMENT TIME

The adventure has been short-lived for the Nissan Qashqai in North America, as the Japanese manufacturer has announced that it will not return next year. It\'s even sadder when you know that the new generation of the model is already present in other markets like Europe.
To be honest with you, I find it hard to explain this decision since the small SUV from the Japanese manufacturer has been very successful here since its introduction to the market in 2017. It seems that production costs and especially transportation costs are to blame. The Nissan Qashqai is not produced on the new continent but rather in England or Japan. You don\'t need an accounting degree to understand that this significantly affects the profit for each unit, and with limited production, it becomes a problem.
Another perspective
Other reasons have been mentioned, starting with the fact that the Nissan Qashqai simply wasn\'t part of the Japanese manufacturer\'s future plans. We can, therefore, conclude that the gap left by the SUV will be filled by another model, possibly an electric SUV.
Finally, even though it\'s been said repeatedly lately, it\'s a shame to see another affordable small vehicle leave the market. Fortunately, the Nissan Kicks still seems to be in the game at Nissan. Some rumors even mention new versions and all-wheel drive, which could help bridge the gap between the current model and the Nissan Rogue. A larger and more versatile new generation of the Kicks is also on the way, which would help fill the void left by the departure of the Qashqai.
In any case, we will miss the Qashqai, and it will be a vehicle that will be very difficult to replace, especially with the excitement that had built up around the arrival of the new model.
The good news is that you still have some time if you want to get a new Nissan Qashqai. The production of the current model will only stop in December 2023. Despite its age, the current Nissan Qashqai remains an excellent option. It\'s a vehicle that has stood out from the competition both in terms of its dynamic driving and modern look. Moreover, the Nissan Qashqai is among the most reliable models in its category.
